Ortlieb Packman Pro 2 - RRP £108.00
Bought from - York Cycleworks
As I now how a baby in the house (with me that makes two), the need to be able to commute to get my training in and also the requirement to carry my work laptop meant that the small rucksack that i used to use was no longer suitable as I needed something bigger and fully waterproof.
Initial View
On picking up it feels a quality item, well built but for its size not too heavy, weighing in at just over 1000g. It has both waist and chest straps and plenty of adjustment. Inside there is a zip pocket for "stuff" and a further pocket for a drinks bladder. On the outside there is 1 small pocket which is really only designed for the helmet strap (to attach your helmet to the bag so you don't have to carry it) and a slightly larger pocket that is not waterproof.
First Uses
Comfy, good weight distribution. One small issue for me was some of the straps tend to whip around at speeds above 15mph and can be a little bit annoying, on other cheaper rucksacks there have been facilities to tie these back out of the way.
Also, I find the lack of external pockets a little irritating, I tend to put tools and tubes in these are its a tight squeeze in the front pockets.
